What is BUNGEE FITNESS?
In a Bungee Fitness class, participants wear a padded harness attached to ceiling-mounted bungee cords. These bungee stations are safety rated from 90-225 lbs. This setup enables a high-intensity, low-impact workout, reducing joint stress by 50-70%. This low-impact cardio workout involves flying and diving movements, engaging core and legs. Bungee is all level friendly, and all skills can be modified to your needs.
The bungee cords create a resistance training that forces you to recruit various muscle groups to work against it. The bungees will try to pull you up into the air and back to your center point, creating a resistance for you to work against.
What To Expect in a Bungee Workout Class
Understanding the basics of using bungees and how to perform exercises safely is essential. Many bungee workout studios have mandatory starter courses for beginners. You'll learn some basic techniques on how to execute exercises correctly. Dragonfly Bungee Fitness runs 45 minutes to an hour. Be prepared for many dance-inspired exercises and explosive movements, including jumping and running. Typical exercises include squats, lunges, burpees, planks, and crunches. Keep in mind that the bungees add a twist to those classic bodyweight moves. Burpees are actually fun in bungee!!!
Dragonfly offers different types of bungee classes. For example, Bungee Fit & Bootcamp classes are very high cardio and have more advanced bungee skills incorporating weights and leg bands to help you reach specific fitness goals like muscle toning & strength building, burning over 700 calories in 45 minutes. Bungee Skills classes focuses on advancing your skill level while working on cardio health, stamina and endurance, calories burned 250-550 average. Beginner bungee gets you fit in the harness and teaches you the basic skills that we progress from, average calorie burn 220.
